Our latest Wolverine Player of the Week is freshman softball player Montana Carsten!
Despite the slow start to the season due to weather, Montana had a great showing in her season debut!
Here’s what WDC head softball coach Tracy Jack had to say about Montana’s performance last week,
“Montana had a great outing as our starting pitcher during our season opener against Menahga last Thursday. She came away with the win pitching the full game, only giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, with 4 strikeouts. Montana helped our momentum on the offensive side of the game as well, reaching base all three times she was up to bat. She had one RBI and was hit by the pitch twice. As a freshman starting pitcher, Montana has shown a lot of maturity in the circle. She’s confident to throw different pitches and has increased her speed significantly from last season. It’s going to be great to see her game continue to improve as the season progresses.”
Congrats Montana!
