VERNDALE, Minn.– The Wadena County Developmental Achievement Center is looking for donations to help fund improvements for the Verndale grocery store.

It is part of the Initiative Foundation, who has awarded Wadena County DAC with a Matching Grant. That allows the organization to double the amount of funds which they use to operate facilities like Verndale Grocery and Treasures Too in Verndale.

For every dollar raised in this effort, Wadena County DAC will match any donation dollar for dollar up to a $5,000 donation. Money raised during the campaign will go toward building maintenance and replacing furnaces at the Verndale store.

Organizers of the fundraiser are encouraging those in the Verndale and surrounding communities to help out. Verndale Grocery and Treasures Too is an important venture according to those with Wadena County DAC because it is the only grocery store in the community.
