VERNDALE, Minn.– It’s going to be a weekend of small town vibes and Pirate pride in Verndale this weekend.
Verndale Days returns for another year with activities starting on Friday and continuing through Saturday night. Here is a list activities going on throughout the weekend.
Friday, July 29th
- 4 p.m. – Bean bag tournament at Pirates Den
- 4 – 10 p.m. – Food outside Pirates Den
- 5 p.m. – Home Run Derby contest held at the Verndale ball park. Concessions will be served. Event is open to everyone
- 6 p.m. – baseball game to follow with Verndale Bison vs. Verndale Geezers
- 8 p.m. – midnight – DJ, splashpad, and other games
Saturday, July 30th
- 4 person golf scramble to benefit Pirate sports
- Register by Saturday morning
- 8:30 a.m. – Raiders Run 5K and 2 mile race
- Register online at midwesternevents.com
- Race day registration at 7:30 – 8:15 a.m.
- 9 a.m. – Volleyball tournament at Pirates Den
- Charmed Coffee and One Trick Pony food trucks
- 12 – 5 p.m. – Fun in the Park
- Bouncy houses, face painting, relay games, bingo, and more
- Superhero Scavenger Hunt
- 12 – 4 p.m. – Bingo in the Park
- 2 – 4 p.m. – Face painting
- 2 p.m. – Bean Bag tournament uptown
- Food served by fire department
- Smoked ribs & pulled pork sandwich
- Before and after the parade until it’s gone
- 6 p.m. – Grand parade
- Messy Bessy following the parade – $10
- Fireworks at dusk
- 9 p.m. – Midnight music by The Mud Wugs
