Two Dead, Two Injured in Three-Car Crash in Becker County

A tragic three-car collision in Becker County on Tuesday afternoon left two people dead and two others injured.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the crash occurred at 1:47 p.m. along Highway 59 in Detroit Township. A Toyota Corolla and a Ford Econoline van were both traveling northbound when they collided with a southbound Chrysler minivan.

The two men in the Corolla, a 33-year-old from Detroit Lakes and a 60-year-old from Hawley, died at the scene. Authorities confirmed that at least one of them was not wearing a seatbelt.

The occupants of the Chrysler sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford van was unharmed.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, with further details expected to be released later on Wednesday.
