The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office has issued their press release regarding the barn fire in Wadena Township on Tuesday, March 8.

“On Tuesday, March 8th at approximately 2:50PM, the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office
received a 911 call reporting a barn on fire in Section 34 of Wadena Township. Upon the
arrival of law enforcement, the barn on the property was found to be fully involved with fire
and heavy smoke. Fire Departments from Wadena and Verndale were paged by Wadena
County Dispatch right away and arrived on scene shortly after law enforcement.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the barn was a complete loss. There were
not any animals in the barn at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Also
responding to the fire were the Verndale Police Department, Fire Departments from Staples,
Hewitt, and Deer Creek, along with Tri-County Ambulance, Todd-Wadena Electric, Wadena
County Highway, and Moench Excavating.”
