DETROIT LAKES, Minn.– Mason Carrier of the Detroit Lakes boys basketball team worked his way up the record books to become the program’s second all-time leading scorer.
Then, he was congratulated by the previous holder of the no. 2 spot. Detroit Lakes native and NFL wide receiver Adam Thielen!

Thielen graduated from Detroit Lakes in 2008 where he participated in four sports football, basketball, baseball and golf. He spent last season playing wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers after spending 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
Carrier reached the milestone by scoring 24 points against Grand Rapids Saturday night. He finished the game with 1340 career points in a Lakers uniform.
Detroit Lakes is 20-2 on the season with a 5-1 record in Section 8AAA play and are currently in second place in the section. The Lakers are 5-0 in the Mid-State Conference. Their next game is on Tuesday when they host Moorhead.
