NEW YORK MILLS, Minn.– A fundraiser will be held Sunday in New York Mills to help Jamie Aho and family pay for handicap accessible updates after he suffered a stroke last fall.
Jamie Aho suffered a severe stroke on October 26, 2023. He underwent a craniectomy to relieve pressure on the brain but the stroke kept the left side of his brain paralyzed. He is currently at Courage Kenny Rehab Center in Golden Valley, Minnesota where he has therapy. That therapy typically for three or more hours a day. It is projected that he will be at the rehab center for a 10-12 week period and is anticipated a return home in mid-March. Jamie is married to his wife Tamara and they have five children.
A free-will donation fundraiser will take place on Sunday, January 28 to help offset the cost of a handicap accessible bathroom. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the New York Mills Apostolic Lutheran Church. A chili and soup meal will be served in addition to sides and desserts.
