Mobile, Alabama (KNSP) – Kate Smith-Stroh, a standout golfer from Detroit Lakes, secured her LPGA Tour Card for the 2025 season by tying for 19th place at the LPGA Q-Series Final Qualifying Stage in Mobile, Alabama, on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
The 25-year-old Smith-Stroh was a five-time Minnesota State golf champion at DLHS from 2012-2016 helping the Lakers win four state team titles. After graduation, she attended the University of Nebraska where she claimed the Big Ten Championship in 2021 with a school-record 64 (-8) in the final round at TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio. Her season earned her third-team All-American honors from Golfweek and honorable mention All-American recognition from the WGCA. Smith-Stroh was also invited to participate in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in Georgia that spring.
Smith-Stroh has been competing on the Epson Tour since 2022. In the 2023 season, she participated in 22 events, making 19 cuts and achieving four top-10 finishes, including a tie for second at the Four Winds Invitational. In 2024, she played in 19 events, made 13 cuts, and added two more top-10 finishes to her record. She entered the Q-Series Final Qualifying ranked 33rd in the Race for the Card.
