CROSBY-IRONTON, Minn.– One of the best prep girls basketball scorers in Minnesota is staying home. Crosby-Ironton junior Tori Oehrlein announced her commitment Friday night to play college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Oehrlein was currently ranked as a 4-star prospect, ranked 43rd nationally for class of 2026 recruits. She’s been one of the most prolific scorers currently in Minnesota high school hoops with over 3,000 points already. Before deciding to play for head coach Dawn Plitzuweit and the Gophers, her choices were between Minnesota, Maryland, Florida, Utah, Michigan, and Virginia Tech. “First I want to thank God for all the blessings He has given to me. Thank you to all the coaches that have taken the time to recruit me, I am forever grateful. Thank you to all of my coaches and teammates over the years. I want to thank my parents for everything they sacrifice for me. Lastly I want to thank the Crosby-Ironton community for all the amazing support!” said Oehrlein in a statement on X. “With that being said I will be continuing my academic and basketball career at the University of Minnesota! Go Gophers.”
