The first weekend of the 2024 Minnesota Baseball Association Class “C” State Tournament has come and gone. Here is an update on what happened for teams in our region.

Perham Pirates – 0 vs. Cold Spring Rockies – 4 (Played at Tiger Park in Belle Plaine)

• Maddux Kovash pitches 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs, 0 earned with 5 strikeouts
• Stetson Berkman of Midway pitches 1.2 innings in relief, allowing 2 runs, 0 earned in relief for Perham
• Chris Ruther goes 2-4 with the lone extra base hit for the Pirates
• Cold Spring will go on to play the Jordan Brewers in Jordan on Friday night, first pitch is 7:30 p.m.
• Congratulations to the Pirates on a great season! Reaching the state tournament for the first time since 2019

Bemidji Blue Ox – 4 vs. Litchfield – 2 (Played in Green Isle)

• The Region 10C champion Blue Ox advance to the second weekend of tournament play
• They will play the New York Mills Millers this Sunday in Belle Plaine at 1:30 p.m.
• We will have coverage of that game on the Superstation K106!
