BERTHA-HEWITT, Minn.– The Bertha-Hewitt football team will be hosting a “First Responder Appreciation Night” this Friday during their game against the Sebeka Trojans.
Any current or retired first responder, law enforcement, EMS, or member of a local fire department will receive free admission into the game, starting at 7 p.m. First responders will also be recognized at half-time as well.
First-year Bears Head Football Coach Jared Hoemberg expressed how important front-line workers are in the community.
“First responders are definitely the unsung heroes of the community. They’re out there 24/7, walking into situations that they have no idea what they are walking into. We’re very grateful for what they do.”
The game will also be the Bears first home game this season.
