WADENA, Minn.– A longtime starter for Wadena-Deer Creek hit a big milestone in a victory Tuesday night.
WDC Wolverine senior Addy Gravelle scored her 1,000 career point Tuesday night on their home floor.
Gravelle came into Tuesday night’s game against Bertha-Hewitt 20 points shy of the four-digit career point total. After making three, three-point shots in the first half, she found another gear after halftime. Fans in the blue and gold cheered when Gravelle scored a layup with 5:11 to go in the second half to reach the 1,000 point total. The game was paused briefly to recognize the achievement Gravelle would exit and finish the game with 20 points after a curtain call from the fans.
“Shout out to Addy Gravelle for scoring her 1,000th point tonight,” said WDC head girls basketball coach Jordan Cresap. “She has put a ton of time in shooting and working on her game throughout her career! A great achievement for an awesome leader and teammate!”
Wadena-Deer Creek came away with a 72-31 win part thanks to the accomplishments of Gravelle.
The Wolverines improve to 7-0 on the season. Currently, they are tied for the lead in the Park Region Conference and hold the top spot in the Section 8AA standings.
