Rally for Roman: Community Urged to Wear Orange or Football Jerseys in Support of Fifth Grader Battling Leukemia

Rally For Roman
Staples, Minn (KWAD) – The Staples-Motley community is rallying around Roman Ross-Sullivan, a fifth grader and football player who is currently battling leukemia. On Thursday, October 3, friends, classmates, and community members are encouraged to wear orange—the color for leukemia awareness—or a football jersey to show their support for Roman and his fight.

Roman and his family are currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis while he undergoes treatment. Despite the challenges, the Staples-Motley community wants Roman to know that he is not facing this battle alone.

In addition to wearing orange or jerseys, supporters can also attend a tailgating event from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Staples-Motley football field on Thursday. Burgers and brats will be served, with proceeds going to help Roman’s family.

“Let’s come together to show Roman and his family that we’ve got their back,” said one organizer. “Every small act of support makes a difference.”
