“A New Era” For Miss Wadena, Winner Crowned At Annual Pageant

WADENA, Minn.– A yearly pageant in Wadena took place on Sunday to highlight the achievements and activities of girls in the area with a Taylor Swift theme. The Miss Wadena Scholarship Pageant was held on Sunday with seven contestants vying for the title of Miss Wadena 2024.

MISS WADENA 2024 is Macy Wynn, daughter of Bryan and Alicia Wynn. She receives the Crown, Flowers, Banner and a $1,250. Cash scholarship as well as other services donated to the pageant. Macy also won $150.00 cash scholarship for the Evening Gown Award.

The 2024 FIRST PRINCESS is Vanessa Haataja, daughter of adoptive mother, Carol Haataja and Birth parents Jesse Ahlers and Melissa Shogren. Vanessa receives the Crown, Banner and Flowers and a $750.00 cash scholarship. Vanessa also received the $150.00 Talent Award as well as the Ambassador Award of a $50.00 cash scholarship.

The SECOND PRINCESS 2024 is Danica Peterson, daughter of Michael and Michele Listrom. Besides the Crown, Banner and Flowers she receives a $500.00 cash scholarship. Danica also received the gift package for the winner of the People’s Choice Award in Casual Wear.

MISS CONGENIALITY and a $50.00 cash scholarship was awarded to Braelyn Wegscheid, daughter of Ryan and Bobbi Jo Wegscgeid.

The INTERVIEW winner was a tie between Mazie Boen, daughter of Kayla Boen and Warren Boen and Amaya Walker, daughter of Jamie Erckenbrack and Michael Walker, so each receivers a $75.00 cash scholarship.
