ST. PAUL, Minn.– Gage Bjerga of Staples-Motley capped off an incredible season as the champion of the 107lb. weight class!

The 8th grader has a 95-6 record with 60 pins, 20 techs, and 7 majors according to Track Wrestling.

Staples-Motley wrestling had a dominant season overall by winning Section 7A as a team and entering the state tournament as the no. 2 ranked team. The Cardinals advanced to the state championship match with wins over Le Sueur-Henderson in the quarterfinals and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in the semi-finals. Chatfield came away with the state title but the Cardinals took home the state-runner up trophy for Class A!
