WADENA, Minn.– A staple of spring’s imminence in central Minnesota arrived as the Fresh Freeze in Wadena opened in Wadena late Monday morning for the first time this season.

The local eating/ice cream establishment is open again for the first time in 2024 according to their Facebook page. Their last day the business was open was on October 8, 2023. Fresh Freeze has been nestled off Highway 71 north in Wadena since 1959.

This is the first full season for new owners Bob and Leanne Kingsley, who officially took over the Fresh Freeze last year from Dawn and Brett Lundgren. Read more about the Fresh Freeze and their ownership transition by clicking here.
