PARK RAPIDS, Minn.– The Park Rapids Area Panthers girls basketball team saw one of their leaders hit a big milestone Friday night!

Gabi Shepersky scored her 1,000th point Friday night at home in a 73-70 win over a section 8AA opponent in East Grand Forks. Shepersky led the Panthers with 21 points in the victory while scoring her 1,000th point.

“The atmosphere in the gym was awesome and it was an exciting Friday night game!” said the Park Rapids Girls Basketball Team’s Facebook page.

Shepersky becomes the tenth becomes the 10th girl in Park Rapids Area program history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark.

The Panthers are currently 12-11 on the season with a 4-7 record in Section 8A and a 4-2 record in the Mid-State Conference. Currently, they rank 8th in the Section 8AA standings.
