Our next Wolverine Player Spotlight is Noelle Spice, a junior on the WDC cross country team!
Here is what Wadena-Deer Creek head cross country coach Mike Brunsberg had to say about Noelle’s performance last week.
“Noelle Spicer capped off Week 5 of the CC season with a Personal Record performance at Ada–serving as the number one runner for the Wolverine girls for the first time in her career. Her 21:24 time was the result of a perfect racing strategy and delivery: starting with a swift first mile to establish position, maintaining a strong second mile of increased tempo, and then finally delivering a kick at the end to pass a number of fading runners in her part of the race. She finished 13th in a very competitive field of runners from the region aiming to earn a berth at State. Compliments to Noelle for running over 3 minutes faster than last year at the same Ada-Borup race course. In only her second season of running CC, she is a model of the improvement and competitive momentum that drives a successful team forward!”
Congratulations Noelle!
