WADENA, Minn.– After months of anticipation, the new library building is close to opening in Wadena.
The Wadena City Library will open to the public on Tuesday, August 1 at 10 a.m. at its new location at 210 1st Street SW. The building was formerly the 1st National Bank of Wadena building.
The current library building at 304 1st SW will close permanently on Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. In-person library services including checkouts, internet use, reference desk, and summer reading prize pickup will not be available for the next couple weeks.
Library staff say patrons are asked to not place requests for materials unless they select the mobile library or other Kitchigami Regional Library branches. There will also be no programs or story times during the moving period.
The public will not be able to return items to the drop box at either building during the moving period. Digital services such as Cloud Library, Hoopla, and Beanstack will not be affected. More information can be found on the Wadena City Library’s Facebook page.
