WADENA, Minn.– Residents and organizations in Wadena will be meeting tomorrow to celebrate the federal holiday Flag Day.
The program will be held Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. from Wadena Veterans Park on Harry and Rich Drive just off Highway 10 East. Putting on the festivities are The Veterans Park Committee, The Elks Lodge, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Organizers say those attending will learn the history of the United States flag. There will be a musical selection, the VFW Color Guard will be present, the pledge of allegiance will be recited, followed by a flag burning ceremony. Information about the Veterans Park will be shared, the museum will be open as well. Coffee, lemonade, and cookies will be served.
People coming to the program are encouraged to bring their own chair.
The museum will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. through Labor Day. Organizers will also open the museum on the 4th of July.
